QSC September Sessions 2023

Our last surf meet of the year - perfect for everyone from first timers to surfing, to regulars in the water. Surf lessons, surf sessions and QSC Afterhours party.

QSC will be based out of Lower Reen Farm, Perranporth, for this meet up. We'll be surfing at Watergate Bay (approx 20 min drive away)

Weekend Overview:

Fri 1st Sept - Arrival day! Anytime after 12:00 to set up camp/pitches etc at Lower Reen Farm

Sat 2nd Sept - Early Surf at Watergate Bay, self organised lunch options around the beach, plus afternoon beach activities and Yoga or Sound Bath back at the farm. Finally, QSC Fest @ Lower Reen Farm with club dinner from  farm produce and bonfire

Sun 3rd Sept - Early Surf at Watergate bay, self organised lunch options around the beach & goodbyes! Lower Reen Farm checkout by 14:00

Surf Lessons & Sessions: 

We'll be surfing and hosting lessons with Ticket To Ride Surf School. Here's the breakdown for different lessons, or ticket types.

• Lessons: perfect for first timers, beginners to intermediate. Surfing groups will be split by ability on the weekend.
• Open Surf: you are self proficient in the water & you have your own surf equipment
• Ocean Playground: From bellyboarding, to just building your confidence in the water. 

Wait, QSC Fest @ Lower Reen Farm?

We'll be hosting an evening meal (Sat 3rd) at Lower Reen Farm, with produce grown from the farm. Weather permitting, it'll be alfresco dining and a bonfire with a sea view! 

Booking your Camping 

We'll be based at Lower Reen Farm. Please note, Ed is kindly opening up his front garden free of charge for folks to camp on. It's going to be a little more cramped than normal, but that is what the weekend is for!

Vans will be allowed, in a seperate field opposite the house.

To book your camping, you'll be asked to react to a thread in the #QSC-September-Sessions23 channel on Slack.

 

What's included in my Ticket?

• If you've booked a Surf Lesson ticket, all your wetsuit and board hire is included in your ticket. 
• If you've booked Open Surf, you will need your own equipment.
• If you need to hire surf equipment, you can arrange surf hire on the day from nearby locations. We always recommend sourcing your own hire before the weekend, if there's something particular you want.

QSC Fest @ The Farm

• This tickets includes your entry, meal for Saturday evening.

What's not included in my ticket?

• Camping @ Lower Reen Farm- you need to book this on Slack
• Travel (although lots of the friendly QSC community usually help with lifts, ride sharing etc - on Slack)
• Food (Apart from a meal Saturday night)
• Accomodation (we recommend lots of places stay, again, on Slack)
• Guranteed waves/surfing conditions - however, no matter what, we always plan to have fun in the sea!

Refunds

• Tickets can be refunded no later than Friday 18th August
• Tickets bought after Friday 18th August are non refundable

INCLUSIVE SURFING 

The Queer Surf Club is a global community of LGBTQ+ surfers and allies. We're driven by our purpose of creating inclusive surfing to save our oceans. We know the more people we can get into the ocean, the more people passionate about saving them. We host meet ups to bring people from across all different identities to the ocean.

Surf Subsidy Program - QSC can help cover the costs of surf lessons & hire, as well as weekend expenses, for all our meet ups. If you would benefit from this, please just drop us an email on community@queersurfclub.com. Subsidisation is applicable to those who may need financial support, as well as trans folks, individuals of colour, disabled individuals and undocumented individuals. No explanation is required in your email.

Who can come? QSC meet up's are for people across all identities, especially those from under represented communities. Our meet ups are intended for the LGBTQ+ community, with allies welcome to join us. All people must agree to our community agreements, which you can find when ordering your ticket, or on Slack.

Stay updated. Join our Slack server (you'll receive an invite once you sign up here, in a seperate email) to stay updated and meet new friends before the meet up. We'll share all the details on timings, locations and updates there. Please make sure you join this.
