Surf Pride Weekender 23

Our biggest surf meet of the year - perfect for first timers to surfing, to regulars in the water. Surf lessons, surf sessions and QSC Afterhours party.

Surf Lessons & Sessions: 

We'll be surfing and hosting lessons with Progress Surf School. Here's the breakdown for different lessons, or ticket types.

• Lessons: perfect for first timers, beginners to intermediate. Surfing groups will be split by ability on the weekend.
• Open Surf: you are self proficient in the water & you have your own surf equipment

Wait, QSC Afterhours?

We're hosting a Pride celebration & surf after party, taking over Eddie's Restaurant just for the QSC community, with food and Queer performances included. This is an additional ticket to your Surfing option that must be added. Limited spaces available.

Booking your Camping Ticket

QSC will have its own area in the campsite and individual payments will be taken on arrival by the campsite for each person - charged at £20 per night per person. You will need to go to the campsite reception on arrival and give your name and pay. This represents a big saving for individual campers and applies to both tents and campervans - but not electric pitches (campervans who want an electric pitch should still book directly with Hillend as these are at fixed points on the campsite.)

We have been asked by the campsite to provide a list of names of people who want to pay on arrival. Please DM Laura Woods on Slack or email her at laura.e.woods92@gmail.com your full name and number of nights you want to stay i.e. Laura Woods - 2nights

Please can you do this BEFORE Monday 12th of June.

What's included in my Ticket?

• If you've booked a Surf Lesson ticket, all your wetsuit and board hire is included in your ticket. 
• If you've booked Open Surf, you will need your own equipment.
• If you need to hire surf equipment, you can arrange surf hire on the day from nearby locations. We always recommend sourcing your own hire before the weekend, if there's something particular you want.

QSC Pride Afterhours

• This tickets includes your entry, meal and entertainment for Saturday evening.

What's not included in my ticket?

• Camping - you need to book this directly with Hill End campsite (see above)
• Travel (although lots of the friendly QSC community usually help with lifts, ride sharing etc - on Slack)
• Food (Apart from a meal Saturday night)
• Accomodation (we recommend lots of places stay, again, on Slack)
• Guranteed waves/surfing conditions - however, no matter what, we always plan to have fun in the sea!

Refunds

• Tickets can be refunded no later than June 2nd
• Tickets bought after June 2nd are non refundable

INCLUSIVE SURFING 

The Queer Surf Club is a global community of LGBTQ+ surfers and allies. We're driven by our purpose of creating inclusive surfing to save our oceans. We know the more people we can get into the ocean, the more people passionate about saving them. We host meet ups to bring people from across all different identities to the ocean.

Subsidised Surf - QSC can help cover the costs of surf lessons & hire, as well as weekend expenses, for all our meet ups. If you would benefit from this, please just drop us an email on community@queersurfclub.com. Subsidisation is applicable to those who may need financial support, as well as trans folks, individuals of colour, disabled individuals and undocumented individuals. No explanation is required in your email.

Who can come? QSC meet up's are for people across all identities, especially those from under represented communities. Our meet ups are intended for the LGBTQ+ community, with allies welcome to join us. All people must agree to our community agreements, which you can find when ordering your ticket, or on Slack.

Stay updated. Join our Slack server (you'll receive an invite once you sign up here, in a seperate email) to stay updated and meet new friends before the meet up. We'll share all the details on timings, locations and updates there. Please make sure you join this.
